Reef Monitoring and Rehabilitation Programme in Villimale’

Save the Beach is an organisation working to protect the environment of Villamale’, namely the beaches and reefs of Villimale’, through activities such as regular clean up of the beaches and lagoon area, along with raising awareness. Our current project, assisted by the United Nations Development Program, the Global Environmental Facility Small Grants Programme and community partners, is focusing on rehabilitating the west reef of Vilimale’ by planting coral tips on already dead hard corals and through regular monitoring of the reef by measuring growth rates and by doing Fish Counts, Reef Check and Water Tests.

Save the Beach is looking for interested individuals or companies to supply the water testing equipment required for the project.
